Benefits for utilities, agencies, and organizations contributing to and using the Washington Green Schools program include:

• Enhanced statewide outreach for greater environmental quality, conservation, and protection
• Training for students that could engage them in resource conservation careers
• Assurance of equal opportunity for participation for all schools in the state, including isolated or historically underserved schools
• Extended community awareness and behavior change through students educating and training others at home and in the community
• A statewide program available for local schools, even if additional funding is not available for direct or intensive school education
