The purpose of the verification step is to determine to what extent your Lasting Change(s) is having an impact in your chosen focus area. Please click on your focus area and follow the specific instructions for each category:

Energy: For verification in the Energy category you will need to obtain your school's energy bills for this year and last year. Due to changes in weather and temperature, energy usage varies with the seasons. Comparing energy bills from two different months within the same year is not an effective way to determine the impact of your Lasting Change(s). For this reason we ask that you compare your energy usage data from the same month this year and last year.

Healthy School Buildings: For verification in the Healhty School Buildings category you will need to obtain information about attendance for this year and last year (percentage of absent students and teachers).

Transportation: No specific instructions at this time.

Waste and Recycling: Three months after the implementation of your Lasting Change(s), please answer the following verification questions.

Water: For verification in the Water category you will need to obtain your school's water bills for this year and last year. Due to changes in weather and temperature, water usage varies with the seasons. Comparing water bills from two different months within the same year is not an effective way to determine the impact of your Lasting Change(s). For this reason we ask that you compare your water usage data from the same month this year and last year.
