Program Updates September 2012
In response to feedback from teachers, students, and partners, the program requirements have been simplified and improved for the 2012-2013 school year.
Please note that we have changed the program requirements and rubric. We are no longer asking schools to complete action steps in categories beyond their focus category, however we do request more detail about the impact of lasting change projects. In addition, certifying schools will need to share more of their story with their community and the Washington Green Schools network. As always, we recommend that you login and review the report card requirements thoroughly as you begin your work for the year.
If you did not certify last year and you have a report card that is incomplete, please contact us with questions. Our goal is make this an easy transition and to get you certified this year!
Lastly, in keeping with other green schools certification program, please note that the Washington Green Schools certification is active for 2 years. Therefore, if your school certified in the 2010-11 school year or before, you may wish to advance or re-certify before the end of this school year.
The goal of these program changes is to provide you and your students with an easier to use and more meaningful program. Best wishes for a great year of Green Team success and certification at your school!
