All K-12 schools in the state of Washington are eligible to participate in the Washington Green Schools Program.
King County schools and school districts (outside the city of Seattle) are eligible to participate in the King County Green Schools Program which offers hands-on support for green school efforts, including school visits to help student and staff Green Teams, tailored recommendations, recycling containers and stickers, and recognition. See www.kingcounty.gov/GreenSchools and contact Dale Alekel at dale.alekel@kingcounty.gov or (206) 296-8457.

Want to Create an Account?
1. Check the list of participating schools to make sure your school is not already registered.
2. Review the Purpose of a Green Schools Account
An account is intended only for a school ready to “go green” by full participation in the program. Participation includes:
Organizing a Green Team of school staff and students
Completing program assessment and action requirements
Sharing results with the school community and public
Celebrating certification
A participating school uses an account to track progress, find helpful resources, and submit an application for certification. An account is not intended for general informational use. If you are mainly just curious about the program, you are welcome to use the website but setting up an account is only appropriate and useful to schools ready to participate.
