Make It Happen

1.2 million students spend their days in K-12 schools across Washington State. You can ensure they gain the skills and hands-on learning opportunities needed to be successful leaders. Our state depends upon the next generation… And Washington Green Schools is working with you to give them the tools they need to succeed.

Join us on March 25 to honor these leaders for environmental action in school communities:

Sylvester Middle School

From campus gardens to student leadership, Sylvester Middle School (Highline Public Schools) exemplifies what it means to be a Washington Green School. Educators at Sylvester work together to give students meaningful learning opportunities in their local environment.

Climate Justice League

The Climate Justice League, a pioneering team of educators from SW Washington, is connecting climate change and social justice in their diverse classrooms. Working collaboratively across school districts, teachers are preparing students for the complex challenges we face. (See a complete list of Climate Justice League participants below.)

PCC Community Markets

PCC Community Markets’ commitment to the environment and community is at the forefront of everything they do. WGS recognizes PCC for its leadership to expand local school gardens and children’s access to fresh, healthy food.
